Generator Enclosures

The SET Group specialises in custom-made enclosures for generator sets. It has been designing, manufacturing and installing Genset enclosures over two decades for clients to whom emergency backup power system is crucial, including energy providers, oil and gas facilities, manufacturing plants, construction companies and palm oil mills, among others. With fabrication, assembly and maintenance done through one contact point, clients’ specific needs are met in a budget-friendly and time-saving manner.

Canopy & Skid Base

Customisation of the canopy and skid base conducted in workshops at different locations with a combined floor area exceeding 40,000 sq. ft enables high precision fit of the generator sets of all models and sizes, and at the same time, address the issues of air inlet and exhaust, noise level, temperature, fuel storage, serviceability and security with a wide range of features and accessories.

Examples of SET’s proven enclosure capabilities include the fabrication of Acoustics Canopy (Model: Cummins KTA38-G, 1000 KVA) for GMP Medicare Sdn Bhd of the Top Glove Group in 2016; Normal Silent Canopy (Model: KTA50, 1500 KVA) for De Kota (M) Sdn Bhd in 2016; Normal Silent Canopy (Model: Volvo TAD 1342 GE, 350 KVA, and TAD 532 GE, 130 KVA) for TCIM Sdn Bhd in 2016; Engine Skid Base (Model: TAD 1641 GE, 500 KVA and installation of Genset) for TCIM Sdn Bhd in 2016.

Mobile Generator Unit

Canopies are made to the client’s specification for truck-mounted generators, which are used as remote backup power for both general industrial use and emergencies. Not only do these canopies protect the generator motors to prolong their service life, they also provide the weather and sound-proofing features essential for outdoor operation.

Reliability is key at the emergency scenes. SET fabricated Genset canopies for mobile generator units live up to challenge under critical conditions. Our track record includes on-going order of Lorry Mobile Genset Canopy (Model: KTA19, 500 KVA; KTA38-G5, 1000 KVA) for Expression Mission Sdn Bhd since 2015; Lorry Mobile Genset Canopy (Model: KTA19, 500 KVA; KTA38-G5, 1000 KVA; NTA855, 350 KVA) for Tenaga Segera Sdn Bhd since 2015; and Lorry Mobile Genset Canopy (Model: KTA38-G5, 1000 KVA; NTA855G1B, 350 KVA) for Aruss Synergy Sdn Bhd since 2016.

Generator Room

Our capabilities in designing and installing generator rooms are a testament to our understanding of the wide-ranging factors that optimise operational performance of our clients. In designing generator rooms that house indoor sets, we emphasize accessibility to facilitate checking and maintenance, paying special attention to manufacturer-and code-required clearances. Air circulation around the generator set is taken into consideration. We ensure that ventilation is appropriately designed to give proper outlet to the heat generated during the operation, while supporting the engine combustion process in an efficient manner. Compliance of our design and installation process with the noise and vibration control policies of the local authorities is a priority.

Our track record includes generator room design and installation of generator set model: QSK60G4 – 2000 KVA at GBS@Mayang Mall for the Penang Development Centre in 2017; and generator room design and installation of generator set model: KTAA19-G6A – 625 KVA for Sri Ganda Palm Oil Mill in 2018.
